The City of Fridley HRA has established a home remodeling demonstration program in which it has purchased older, outdated ramblers located at:

This remodeling demonstration featured "One Level Living" and helped demonstrate to city residents the many creative and cost affective home improvements available to make their home more accessible. Unlike typical remodeling projects, this one was open to the public. Intended to inspire and encourage residents to reinvest in their home! Open houses were used to demonstrate how inexpensive various home improvements can be and to provide information about the HRA's home improvement loan program.

The City has contracted a contractor to remodel and showcase the upgrades to the public through various open houses.
Tim Van Auken, Counselor Realty, was chosen to serve in the unique role of realtor and design collaborator with the contractor. Together they will work to maintain the rambler's character and enhance it with quality modern features. Mr. Van Auken has provided input to help balance the extent of the remodel's value with the desire of today's homeowners.
